- HIR Architecture + Design is a full service licensed architectural design practice specializing in single-family residential renovations and new construction. HIR A+D focuses on understanding and responding to the unique needs of each of its homeowners and works closely with clients to create spaces that evoke joy, comfort, and security. At our core, we strive to produce beautiful and functional solutions that uphold our values for sustainable and enduring design. Projects range in size, style, and budget, but the attention to detail and dedication to creativity is steadfast.
- Services include master planning for home and landscape, interior design consultation, guidance on budgeting and scheduling, creation of 2D and 3D CAD drawings, coordination with consultants and trades, filing of permit submissions, and construction administration. Hannah I Robertson is licensed in NY and CT and offers design consultations to clients in many of the surrounding states.
- All new projects begin with an introductory meeting, preferably at the site of the renovation or in your home. The first meeting is a chance to get to know one another and to discuss your creative and functional goals for your new space. With this information, HIR A+D will help you to set a budget and scope that fits your needs and determine a design schedule that aligns with your construction start date and project duration. If everything is in alignment, we move into the first phase of design. Depending on the scope and scale of the project, this may include site discovery and master planning, or we may dive right into the selection of finishes and detailing. Regardless of scale, HIR A+D will deliver design drawings and imagery that align with the goals of the project, and everything will be reviewed and approved by the client before moving on to filing and construction drawings. HIR A+D will assist with the selection of a contractor and independent consultants as needed and will provide construction administration services and design consultation throughout the construction process.
- Fees range according to project size and complexity, but generally fall between 9-16% of Estimated Construction Cost. The fee determination accounts for the time, effort, risk, and coordination required to complete the requested design and administration services. At the start of the project, we work together to establish a realistic budget and fee structure that meet the unique needs of each project.
- HIR Architecture + Design is led by Hannah I Robertson.
